“Olivia Murray is not only one of our clients at Atlantic Wellness; she is also an inspiring young advocate who has touched countless hearts in our community. This year, she was awarded the People’s Choice Award at our Circle of Campaigns event, an honour that reflects the remarkable impact she has made at such a young age.
Olivia’s journey into advocacy began in 2023, when she tragically lost her father to suicide. She was only 12 years old. In the face of unimaginable grief, Olivia chose courage. She brought Operation White Heart to her school, becoming the very first student in the Greater Moncton Area to do so and began raising awareness around suicide prevention and youth mental health. She spoke to classrooms, organized activities, and worked tirelessly to help her peers understand that they are not alone.
Her compassion and leadership quickly became visible. In her final year at LMS, Olivia received several awards recognizing her kindness, dedication, and her powerful voice as a youth mental health advocate. Now 14, Olivia continues her mission as she enters Grade 9 at Moncton High School. She plans to expand Operation White Heart and bring even more awareness to her new school community. She dreams of studying neuroscience one day so she can deepen her impact and help others who may be struggling.
At Atlantic Wellness, we are profoundly grateful to have clients like Olivia, young people who transform their personal challenges into advocacy, hope, and change. Her strength, empathy, and commitment remind us why our work matters, and she inspires everyone around her to speak openly about mental health and support one another.
Olivia is not only a dedicated advocate, but she is also a true role model, and we are honoured to be part of her journey.” – Atlantic Wellness Center
